What was the book about?
A boy is wrongfully sent to a brutal camp, where the camp warden and her staff force the children in their care to mysteriously dig holes all day long in the desert. Their rehabilitation is questioned, as they think something sinister is involved.
What 3 things did you like about the book?
Explain why
I like how zero admitted to stealing the shoes but Stanley said it was destiny.
I like how Stanley we and tried to rescue zero defying all odds.
I like how zero saves Stanley when he was getting beaten up.
What 3 things didn’t you like about the book? Explain why.
I didn’t like how Mr. Pendanski mocked zero.
I didn’t like how the boys bullied him because zero helped him with holes.
I didn’t like how zigzag bullied Stanley because zero helped him.
What is your favourite part?
Stanley carries zero up on the mountain going so slow because Stanley was worried about zero well being.
