Summer learning journey activity 2

or this activity please create your own tapa cloth design. You can draw your design on paper or using a drawing app.
On your blog, post an image (photo or screenshot) or your tapa design and describe what each part of your picture represents (means).
The 4 squares means me and my other siblings and and the other 4 means my mum,  and her siblings.  The star means the new baby my uncle or my older brother going, to have so it is like a star in the family.

  1. Nice tapa design Josaia - Tapa cloth (or simply tapa) is a barkcloth made in the islands of the Pacific Ocean, primarily in Tonga, Samoa and Fiji, but as far afield as Niue, Cook Islands, Futuna, Solomon Islands, Java, New Zealand, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and Hawaii (where it is called kapa). Perhaps you could do something like this during one of the cultural weeks this year at SPX? Keep blogging!

Hopefully you are enjoying your holidays and have had some time off to relax. The Manaiakalani team are tracking your progress and you are on your way to finishing, this is awesome!

However, we have seen that you have missed out on 3 activities, WEEK 2 DAY 5. I have attached the link to Week 2 here https://sites.google.com/site/summerlearningjourney/weekly-activities/2019-week-2-y6-8#h.p_8Z6wOY2V81uF You are so close to finishing the programme it would be such a shame to find out that you were so close simply by forgetting that you didn’t complete a few activities!

You can simply complete these activities in a new blog post & we will then mark them! Feel free to email me on georgiaslj@gmail.com when you have completed them so we can tick these off!

    Keep up the awesome mahi!

    Cheers,
    Georgia

  3. Hi Josaia,
I am very proud of you for blogging over the holidays. I have to tell you that I was on the same flight with Maraea and her mum when we went to Fili. I love the Fijian tapa and I bought a piece of tapa with me. Try and complete the activities that you have not done. GREAT WORK.
